The Anaheim Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins have pulled off a trade. Going to Anaheim is defenseman Erik Gudbranson. In return, the Penguins gets forward Andreas Martinsen and a seventh-round pick in 2021.
27-year-old Gudbranson is a former 3rd overall pick in the 2010 entry draft. Besides Pittsburgh, he's also played for Florida and Vancouver. In seven games this year, he has zero points.
Martinsen, 29, was never drafted, instead signing an entry level contract with Colorado in 2015. He spent most of last season in the AHL with Rockford, while also playing 24 games for Chicago. He's played one game in the AHL this season for the San Diego Gulls.
