Sportsnet's Chris Johnston has reported on Twitter on Monday that UFA defenseman Andrew McDonald has signed with SC Bern of the Swiss National League.
The 33-year-old veteran has played parts of 12 seasons in the NHL and had spent the last six seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers, recording 9 points in 47 contests last season. Prior to his stint in Philly, McDonald had also spent six seasons the New York Islanders, where he enjoyed a career best 27 points through 60 games in the 2010/'11 season.
McDonald had been on a professional try-out (PTO) with the Calgary Flames throughout training camp, before ultimately being released on October 1st.
McDonald has registered 161 points through 586 NHL games.
