Evgeni Malkin, who has recently, started skating in the process of recovering from his lower body injury, was not on the ice last night, but couldn't help but get involved in the action.
As Vegas goalkeeper Marc Andre Fleury was being interviewed after the game against the Pens, a 3-0 win over his former team, Malkin walked right between Fleury and the camera, bumping the goalie along the way, something he would probably not do during a game. He then turned around and shook Fleury's hand and hugged his former teammate. He played with Fleury from 2005 to 2017 when Fleury went to Vegas via the expansion draft. Malkin and Fleury won three Stanley Cups as teammates.
Fleury had a great night overall. In addition to the shutout, he tied Terry Sawchuk with 445 career wins for 7th all time, just 5 behind Henrik Lundqvist.
