Former first-round draft pick Logan Brown has only played two games in the NHL so far, and his agent insists it's because the Ottawa Senators aren't giving him a fair chance. Andy Scott appeared on TSN radio, where he blamed the Sens for not putting Brown in a position to excel.

"I can honestly say, I've never seen an early first round selection met with such resistance by the team that ends up drafting the player early in the first round," said Scott. "From day one, I've seen Logan have to grind, and claw, and work his tail off for every morsel of opportunity that he's been provided, whereas some of these other guys, these elite players, like Logan, it's a little bit easier. They get paired with top lines, top players, put into positions to excel."

Scott says Logan showed up to training camp last year and was the "8th line centre", which he believes held the young player back. He also alleges former Ottawa coach Guy Boucher "never took a shining to Logan," calling new head coach DJ Smith a "huge step in the right direction."

Brown was selected 11th overall by Ottawa at the 2016 draft. Ottawa traded picks in order to move up in the draft to get him. In his two NHL games last season, he didn't notch any points. In the AHL, he had 14 goals and 42 points in 56 games.

"From 10 thousand feet, when I look at this situation, I see a team that's in the throes of a rebuild," Scott said. "Even driving around Ottawa, I see [the team's] slogan for this season is 'The Kids are Alright'. If the kids are alright, play the kids! Why is Logan Brown not being groomed to be the next first or second line centre."

Scott ended this interview by saying he's looking forward to the day when the Ottawa Senators "embrace this kid once and for all."
