Erik Karlsson has let everyone know why he wasn't in the San Jose lineup for their season opener against Vegas. The 29-year-old revealed on Instagram that he and his wife have given birth to a baby girl, the couple's first child.
“It hasn't been easy but after the rain finally our little rainbow arrived,” Karlsson wrote on Instagram. “Love you both more than I could ever imagine.”
While a member of the Ottawa Senators in March 2018, Karlsson announced he and Melinda's first child, a boy, was stillborn.
In his Instagram post, Karlsson tells his wife "never have I met a more determined or stronger person than you."
