The rivalry between Ryan Reaves of the Vegas Golden Knight and Evander Kane of the San Jose Sharks continues with Reaves taking shots at Kane over his three game suspension for abuse of officials. When asked about Kane's suspension in the Vegas dressing room, Reaves didn't hold back a bit with several sarcastic responses.

"Poor Evander, poor Evander. So tragic. I wish he was on the ice. It's always more fun when he's on the ice."

Kane will not be at the season opener between San Jose and Vegas because he's serving a three game suspension for an incident where he slashed and shoved an official during the last game of the preseason that involved the Sharks and Golden Knights. The slash seemed to be incidental, Kane was aiming for Deryk Engelland. The shove was certainly intentional, as Kane pushed an official after he either fell or was tackled by the referee as the official attempted to get the situation under control. Kane claimed he's treated differently by officials than other players in a post-game interview, something Reaves disagrees with.

"No, I don't understand why he would say that," said Reaves when asked whether he agreed with Kane's assessment of his treatment.

As for the situation with Kane going to the ice while entangled with an official, Reaves said Kane should probably work out more.

"He's weak. He gets taken down by a ref. It happens. Gotta get in the gym, no?”

Reaves and Kane have a rivalry going, with lots of chirping when the two teams play each other, and an actual fight between them that broke out during Game 3 of the first-round Stanley Cup playoff series between the Sharks and Golden Knights this past spring.
