Canadiens limiting the number of spectators to start 2021-22 season

To adhere to Quebec public health guidelines, the Montreal Canadiens will have a limited capacity at home games to start the 2021-22 season.

Earlier today, the Canadiens announced that they were holding their annual red vs white scrimmage at the Bell Centre on Sunday, September 26th and that they are only selling 7,500 tickets, which is roughly 35% of the max capacity. This started to make fans wonder if the pre-season and regular season would be limited capacity as well.

According to Arpon Basu of The Athletic, there will be a limit of 7,500 fans allowed in the Bell Centre for home pre-season and regular season games, at least to start the season.

"Following the announcement of 7,500 capacity for their training camp scrimmage based on government guidelines, I reached out to the Canadiens to ask if that limit will apply to regular season games. For now, the answer is yes, no more than 7,500 at regular season games," Basu said in a tweet on Thursday.

Fans who want to attend a Canadiens game this season will also have to prove they have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by showing a QR code provided by the Quebec government's app, VaxiCode.
