On Wednesday morning, Sidney Crosby returned to the ice prior to the Pittsburgh Penguins' team practice.

Crosby left practice during a scrimmage on Saturday and had not participated in a team event since then. His reason for leaving has not been released to the public at this time. Due to the Return to Play Plan guidelines, the Penguins are not permitted to disclose information about players' injuries or illnesses.

The media was permitted to enter the rink at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, where they found Crosby was the only player on the ice. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Crosby “scooped up some pucks into a bag, sat on the bench while the Zambonis drove around and then took his sticks back to the dressing room. "
