Subban, 33, announced his retirement from the NHL in September after parts of 13 seasons. He spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Canadiens, putting up 278 points (63 goals, 215 assists), 532 penalty minutes and was a plus-35. Following the 2012-13 season, Subban was named the winner of the Norris Trophy as the NHL's best defenceman that year.
He was then traded to the Nashville Predators in 2016 in exchange for Shea Weber. Subban's time in Nashville was pretty successful, helping them reach the 2017 Stanley Cup Final.
After three seasons with Nashville, he was shipped to New Jersey, where he would play three more seasons before hanging up his skates.
One of the team's most electrifying players in recent memory, @PKSubban1 will be honored prior to the game on Jan. 12 at the Bell Centre! https://t.co/prYnL3qfsY Canadiens Montréal (@CanadiensMTL) December 19, 2022
