Flyers make veteran forward available for trade
During the '32 Thoughts' segment on Hockey Night in Canada, Sportsnet insider Jeff Marek revealed that the Philadelphia Flyers have made veteran forward James van Riemsdyk available for trade.
"Someone to keep our eyes on is James van Riemsdyk of the Philadelphia Flyers. Having a really nice season now and scored tonight as well. Keep your eyes on him. The Philadelphia Flyers have made him available." Marek said.
He added, "Now the actual cash here is $5 million, $1 million has already been paid as a bonus going back to last summer. The cap hit is $7 million, but Philadelphia could eat some of that as well to make it more palatable for a team looking at James van Riemsdyk. Probably really good for a team looking for some powerplay help, a team destined for the playoffs."

van Riemsdyk, 33, has only appeared in 12 games this season due to an injury to his finger that required surgery back in late October. In those 12 games, he's recorded 11 points (five goals, six assists), eight penalty minutes and is a plus-three.
The Middletown (New Jersey) native is in the final year of a five-year contract he signed with the Flyers back in the summer of 2018 and he'll become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
