Penguins sign Head Coach Mike Sullivan to multi-year extension
The Pittsburgh Penguins announced on Tuesday that they've agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with Head Coach Mike Sullivan. The extension will kick in ahead of the 2023-24 season and run through the 2026-27 campaign.
"Mike is one of the top coaches in the National Hockey League and it was important for us to have him signed long term," said Penguins General Manager Ron Hextall. "He is a great leader that finds success through communication, honesty and accountability. We know that Sully is committed to continuing a winning culture here in Pittsburgh."
Sullivan, 54, has been the bench boss of the Pittsburgh Penguins since December 2015. In his first two seasons as Head Coach, Sullivan led the Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cups, beginning the first team to win consecutive championships since the Detroit Red Wings in the late-90's.

Sullivan will look to lead the Penguins to a seventeenth consecutive playoff appearance this season. Pittsburgh will open their 2022-23 campaign on October 13th against the Arizona Coyotes.
