Tucker Poolman's Career Is in Jeopardy Due to a Nagging Injury
Vancouver Canucks D Tucker Poolman has missed over 50 games in the past two seasons due to injury, and there is reason to believe his career could be at risk.
Poolman last played on April 3, 2022, after leaving an eventual 3-2 overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights due to an 'upper body injury.'
According to Rick Dhaliwal, there is still concern over Poolman's injuries, suggesting it could possibly be concussion-related. As we all know, concussion injuries are tricky to rehabilitate and can end up being detrimental to athletes' careers.
Dhaliwal suggests that the Canucks are sniffing around D Calvin de Haan as Poolman's replacement for the 2022-23 season:
It is more likely than not that Poolman and his $2.5M cap-hit are headed to LTIR, offering the Canucks needed relief. The team is over the NHL's salary cap by about $2.7M, per CapFriendly.com. They currently have about $4M allocated to injured reserve, meaning they could have as much as $1.4M to spend barring any additional cap clears.
