Mike Babcock has apparently received an invitation that might be hard to refuse.
According to RIA News Agency, Babcock has been invited to the prestigious World Hockey Forum a convention for hockey professionals that will take place in Moscow on December 12-13, 2019. Based on past attendance, the event is likely to exceed 1000 hockey professionals and media attending, with speakers/panelists already including representatives from the NHL, USA Hockey, IIHF, and North American media. Among the panel topics will be discussions on the growth of youth hockey, women's hockey, integration of new digital technologies in fan interaction, etc.
"We have invited Mike Babcock to the World Hockey Forum, " Roman Rotenberg, Senior Vice President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) told RIA . "The forum is attended by many influential people for the exchange of ideas for the benefit of hockey and its growth. We're open to dialogue with specialists from all countries and willing to use any knowledge that can benefit Russian hockey."
Rotenberg had also mentioned the invitation extended to Babcock in an interview with Match TV. "We await his response. We believe he will come, and it will be a very interesting exchange of ideas and experiences. We are in a constant dialogue between all the national hockey federations. We'd love to have him come work with us to benefit our hockey, if he agrees."
