On Sunday, Tony DeAngelo of the New York Rangers took to his Twitter account and took it to a blogger who suggested, based on advanced statistics, that the time is perfect for Ryan Strome to be traded as his value might be overinflated.

Rob Luker of Blue Seat Blogs posted an analysis of Strome's shot percentage numbers this year compared to his career, finding that if Strome is bound to regress, his value as a trade chip will never be higher. Luker also cited Strome's less than impressive advanced stats, to point out that the Rangers might be better off without him in the long run.

DeAngelo retweeted Luker's post with a mocking tone, explaining that the charts and advanced stats are not the true measure of a hockey player's worth and Strome has been great for the Rangers since coming over in the Ryan Spooner trade. "Watch the games," DeAngelo suggested.

Strome, the 5th overall pick of the 2011 draft by the Islanders, is playing at a point-per-game pace this year, with 21 points in 21 games with the Rangers. His career high came in 2014-15 with the Isles, when he had 50 points in 81 games.
