T.J. Brodie has started skating again, and is nearing a return. The 29-year-old Calgary defenseman collapsed during practice a week ago, for reasons still unknown. He will be joining the team and practicing during the road trip, though he has been ruled out against the Flyers tomorrow.

Brodie has been a solid, reliable d-man for Calgary, breaking out last season with 34 points and +29 rating in 79 games. So far this season, Brodie had 8 assists and no goals for the struggling Flames.

Meanwhile, Avs fans should start looking forward to Mikko Rantanen's return. After suffering a gruesome leg injury on October 21st, Rantanen is now skating with the team in a non-contact jersey. He had 5 goals and 7 assists in 9 games before the injury.
