TSN's Pierre LeBrun is reporting that Washington's Garnet Hathaway will have a hearing for spitting at Erik Gudbranson of Anaheim Monday night. LeBrun says he was told so by the Director of Hockey Operations for the NHL, Colin Campbell.

Hathaway admits he may have taken things too far when he ended up spitting on Gudbranson while the two were involved in a shoving match late in the 2nd period.
"I reacted a little emotionally, unfortunately spit came out of my mouth," Hathaway told reporters after the game. "There's no place [for that]. Emotional play by me, you don't plan any of that stuff in your head. It was a quick reaction and unfortunately, the wrong one for me."
His match penalty automatically triggered a review by the Department of Player Safety or the NHL's Hockey Operations Department.
