After his breakout season with the Vegas Golden Knights following the 2017-18 expansion draft, 28 year-old forward Erik Haula has seen his share of injuries. After being injured long term with the Vegas Golden Knights in the start of the 18-19 season against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Haula was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes before the start of the 19-20 season.
Haula managed to get healthy again for his first season with Carolina, but has since been in and out of the line up due to reoccurring issues with his knee.
After missing four games, the 28 year-old forward returned to the ice for the better part of two games, including the Canes Saturday night overtime victory against the Minnesota Wild.
During the game against the Wild, Haula sat out the last three minutes and did not take the ice during the overtime period.
Monday, head coach Rod Brind'Amour commented on Haula's status after not returning to the ice;
"He's going to be out for a while," Brind'Amour said. "I can't give you any update as length of time, but he's not playing any time soon, I don't think."
Haula, who has netted 8 goals through his 16 games this season, is seemingly still suffering from the injury that took place during his time with the Golden Knights.

In the final year of his contract, the concern being raised is where he will end up, if and when he becomes healthy again. Given his play when healthy, Haula is a top goal scorer and seemingly a very good match for the Hurricanes line-up. This is a tough injury for both the Canes organization and Haula, alike.
