With the team's tied 3-3 in the last minute of the third period, Montreal's Phil Danault scored what appears to be the go ahead goal against the New Jersey Devils. The referees labelled it a good goal, and then the reviews started. At the end of it all, the goal would be reversed, the game would go into overtime, and Montreal would end up losing 4-3.
Many were confused as to why the goal was called off and why it was deemed to be kicked in. You can take a look below.

For it's part, the league released an explanation saying: "Video review determined Phillip Danault illegally directed the puck into the New Jersey net with his leg. According to Rule 78.5 (i) apparent goals shall be disallowed when the puck has been directed, batted, or thrown into the net by an attacking player other than with a stick. When this occurs, if it is deemed to be done deliberately, then the decision shall be no goal. A goal cannot be scored when the puck has been deliberately batted with any part of the attacking player's body into the net."
It's pretty clear Danault did not agree with the call.
“The referees stole the game,” Danault said in a post game interview.
