We all know hockey is a team sport, but in any given game an individual performance can be astonishing while carrying a team to victory. Such is the case in a match between the Waterloo Black Hawks and the Muskegon Lumberjacks held last Friday in the USHL.

As his team seemed slowly but surely headed for a 3-1 defeat, Russian sniper Danil Gushchin put the Lumberjacks on his shoulders as he scored all four Muskegon goals in a 4-3 win. Two of those goals were scored in the final moments of the third period. After scoring a goal in the first period, Gushchin scored with 1:24 left in the third to bring his team within one. His third goal was scored five seconds from the end of regulation time to force OT.

With 2:20 left in overtime, Gushchin completed the improbable, scoring his fourth goal to win the game for his team. What a performance!
