The Winnipeg Jets have announced forward Mark Letestu has been sidelined for the rest of the regular season. According to head coach Paul Maurice, Letestu is being shut down for six months with myocarditis, which is a virus that attacks the heart. Maurice says his prognosis for a full recovery at this point is good.

Winnipeg signed the 34-year-old to a one-year, two-way contract as a free agent over the summer. He is a veteran of 567 NHL games. Besides the Jets, he's played for Columbus, Edmonton and Pittsburgh. In seven games this season, Letestu had failed to get on the scoresheet in either goals or assists.
