The St. Louis Blues received terrible news regarding forward Vladimir Tarasenko Monday. The team has announced the 27-year-old will undergo surgery on his shoulder Tuesday and will be out at least five months. He'll be reevaluated at that time to see if he's ok to return or if he needs longer to recover.
Tarasenko had points in five straight contests before leaving the October 24th game against Los Angeles in the first period after playing just four minutes and 37 seconds. In 10 games this season, Tarasenko had posted three goals and seven assists. He will be placed on long-term injured reserve.
Tarasenko had 11 goals and 17 points in 26 games in last year's post-season, as the Blues went on to win the franchise's first ever Stanley Cup.
