Carolina Hurricanes owners Tom Dundon still seems pretty steamed about Montreal offer-sheeting Sebastian Aho over the offseason. Francois Gagnon of RDS caught up with Dundon before the season opener between the Habs and Canes Thursday night, where he stated he feels disrespected by any thoughts that he would be unable to match the five-year offer that was made.

I still can't imagine that such a serious team like the Montreal Canadiens would think for a second that I wouldn't defend myself," Dundon told Gagnon. "This commando strategy is the only negative thing I've had to deal with since owning the team"

"Will you tell me why I have to prove my seriousness? If I own the Carolina Hurricanes, it's because I can afford to own a professional sports team. I do not need someone else to sign one of my players to an offer sheet for me to prove it."

When the offer sheet was made, Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin explained it was front loaded with bonuses in the hopes Dundon would not be able to match it. While Aho did sign the offer, the Canes quickly decided to match the sheet, and the rest is now history.
