No. 87 will be in the lineup for Pittsbugh's season opener Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres. Penguins coach Mike Sullivan made the announcement to media Wednesday. Sidney Crosby had been day-to-day after taking a shot off his leg in preseason action, but has been given the all clear to get back in the lineup.
Newly acquired forward Alex Galchenyuk will likely be a game time decision, according to Sullivan. Galchenyuk hurt his hand at practice three days ago and has also been listed day-to-day since. He has been skating with Evgeni Malkin and Brandon Tanev on the Pens' second line. Galchenyuk was brought over from the Arizona Coyotes in an exchange that saw Phil Kessel go to the Coyotes.
