Today the Florida Panthers have given a major update on the injury status of several players including star forward Matthew Tkachuk.

Injuries and illness have ravaged the Florida Panthers over the last week or so. Both captain Aleksander Barkov and star forward Matthew Tkachuk were forced out of the lineup on the same night. Both Barkov and Tkachuk missed the Panthers loss against the Buffalo Sabres. While Matthew Tkachuk's illness is considered short term Barkov's injury is considered more long-term. Since then the Panthers have been without both players and struggling to get by.

This afternoon the Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice spoke to the media. During his availability, he was able to give a major update on several injury and illness return timetables. According to Paul Maurice, the closest to returning is Matthew Tkachuk who will likely be back on Tuesday. As for captain Aleksander Barkov, he is on track to return before the Panthers head over to his home country of Finland. Other players like Tomas Nosek and Jonah Gadjovich will also be out of the lineup but back for the team's Europe trip.

With these massive updates, the Florida Panthers are now just a few days away from major reinforcements coming back into the NHL lineup. Over the course of the next few days, all eyes will be on Florida Panthers practice to see when each player returns to the ice. The Panthers head to Finland for their Global Series game at the beginning of November. With this in mind, the Florida Panthers will only need to survive a couple of more weeks without their captain Aleksander Barkov before his expected return.

The Panthers will get a huge boost with Matthew Tkachuk back in the lineup. Last season Tkachuk tallied 88 points in 80 games and another 22 in 24 games played in the playoffs while battling through injury. He will likely have to ramp up to his return of in-game action after being out due to illness. Hopefully, we will see him on the ice soon and back in superstar mode within the week.

As more updates come out regarding the health and return of Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov we will pass them along to you.
