Utah Hockey Club's first unofficial goal in franchise history caused by Dylan Guenther own-goal mistake

Utah Hockey Club has already made an unusual first impression playing in the NHL after their first unofficial goal in franchise history was caused by an own goal.

After the era of the Arizona Coyotes came to a close, the Utah Hockey Club was very quickly making an unusual impact in the league. Despite not being part of the Stanley Cup playoffs, Utah HC remained a popular subject with the sheer amount of leaked information. This included logos, color palettes, and even possible team name finalists from the team owner Ryan Smith himself.

Yet, the oddities from the new NHL team seem far from over. In their very first preseason game against the St. Louis Blues, they got their first unofficial goal. However, this was a nasty own-goal. Milos Keleman sent the puck down to Utah HC prospect Dylan Guenther, who was unable to catch up to the puck, resulting in a two-nothing score.

Thankfully, Utah's Michael Carcone was able to score their official goal roughly six game minutes later in a play from Ben McCartney, putting them on the board at 1-2.

The Utah Hockey Club is now leading 3-2 against the St. Louis Blues with nine minutes left in the third period. After a rough start, hopefully, the team can stay ahead and not make any more silly mistakes.
