Geneve-Servette, who play in Switzerland's top division, National League, announced on Thursday that they've re-signed NHL veterans Sami Vatanen and Valtteri Filppula and have also signed former NHLer Linus Omark. Omark and Vatanen's contracts are for two-years, while Filppula's is for one year.

The quotes in this story are translated from French.

"Sami Vatanen and Valtteri Filppula were also seduced by the project. They are great competitors and their first season in Switzerland was a real success on a personal level. They are real leaders and their contract extension has always been a matter of course, both for us and for them." said Geneve-Servette GM Marc Gautschi.

Vatanen, 30, appeared in 38 games this season where he put up 39 points (nine goals, 30 assists), twelve penalty minutes, and was a plus-one.

As for Filppula, 38, he joined Geneve-Servette ahead of the 2021-22 season after parts of sixteen years in the NHL with Detroit, Tampa Bay, Philadelphia, and the Islanders. In 48 games, he had 47 points (nineteen goals, 28 assists), ten penalty minutes, and was a plus-three.

When talking about Omark, Gautschi said, "We are very happy to be able to count on Linus Omark 's return to Les Vernets. He's the kind of players that make his teammates better. He wants to win with our team, which is also why he has already extended his Garnet adventure by one season."

Omark, 35, spent the 2020-21 season with Geneve-Servette before leaving for Lulea HF in Sweden this past year. In 52 games for Lulea HF, Omark put up 58 points (21 goals, 37 assists), 32 penalty minutes, and was a plus-eleven.
