The Buffalo Sabres have sent 21-year old, Casey Mittelstadt to their AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans. Mittelstadt is still on his entry level contract, so he will not have to clear waivers.
In 31 games this season he has recorded 4 goals and 9 points, and has recently been a healthy scratch in favor of Evan Rodrigues or a seventh defenseman in the lineup.
Mittelstadt has played 114 games for the Sabres since being selected eighth overall by Buffalo in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. In that span, he has put up 17 goals and 39 points.
