Following the Winnipeg Jets' 3-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, both the Jets' head coach Paul Maurice and left winger Nikolaj Ehlers addressed the medias with smiles and jokes.
Ehlers, who until Sunday had been in only two fights, dropped the gloves with long time Ducks captain and heavyweight, Ryan Getzlaf.

After answering the bell with Getzlaf, following a cross-check behind the net, Ehlers told the medias that he could hear his teammates from the bench shouting “no!”, but proceeded to drop his gloves anyway, because “that's just how it goes sometimes.”
Ehlers also told the medias that it “felt kind of good.”
He continued to joke with the press, stating that after his third bout at the NHL level, he's now a professional.
“I'm a fighter,” he jokingly claimed in the locker room, following the Jets' 3-2 win.
Winnipeg head coach Paul Maurice also commented on the fight, stating that Ehlers is “tougher than you think.”
He also noted, assuming we all count the battle with Getzlaf as a draw, the young winger is “2-0-1” in his fighting career.
