The disorderly conduct charge against Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews has been dismissed, according to a report by Sportsnet.

The charge was laid following an altercation with a female security guard outside of a condominium in Arizona in May of this year when Matthews jiggled a handle on the victim's vehicle before pulling his pants down, revealing his underwear and walking away with his pants around his ankles.

According to Arizona law, an individual who is accused of a misdemeanour offence may settle the matter by striking a monetary deal with the accuser in exchange for the criminal case to conclude.

Matthews, who signed a 5-year deal earlier this year worth over $11.6M per season, can now put the matter behind him and focus on playing hockey.

Matthews is enjoying a rather productive season to date, posting 26 points through the Leafs' first 20 games. The Arizona native is on pace for 106 points this season.
