While Connor McDavid is often seen as the heart and soul of the Edmonton Oilers, often times his partner in crime, Leon Draisaitl is overlooked.
Through the start of the 19-20 season, Draisaitl's stats are hard to overlook.
As of Saturday, in which the Oilers took the two points over the Penguins in OT, Draisaitl has joined two of the most elite players to ever adorn the orange and blue.
The young forward has undoubtedly been off to a hot start, picking up right where he left off last season, but exactly how big are the steps Draisaitl has taken thus far? We have to compare him to the most highly regarded Oilers of all time to get a clear picture of just how good he's been thus far.
Through the Oilers' first 15 games, his performances has placed him among the elite ranks of Edmonton legends Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier.
Draisaitl's the first Oiler's player to score 13+ goals through the team's first 15 games in a season since Wayne Gretzky in 87-88. He also joins Mark Messier, becoming the first Oiler since the 89-90 season to net 26+ points in the first 15 games.
With Draisaitl putting up 26 points and McDavid right on his tail, netting 23 points through the first 15 games, it's clear that this dynamic duo is playing a key roll in Edmonton's hot start, as well as their high league standings.
