Two major superstars injured in one night is a big deal even in a physical league like the NHL.
Evgeni Malkin tripped over a teammate's foot in the 2nd period of their game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, and went awkwardly into the boards. He came out of the game and was not on the Pens' bench as of the start of the 3rd period.

Meanwhile, in another blowout game where Buffalo was leading the New Jersey Devils, Taylor Hall was looking to line up Buffalo D Jake McCabe, but looked like he ran into a brick wall. He struggled to get up before going down the tunnel and was placed in concussion protocol. Wayne Simmonds attempted to stir it up with McCabe, only to end up with a double-minor for roughing, while P.K. Subban and Kyle Okposo picked up 10 minute misconducts.

Hall did come back and start the 3rd with his team.
