Longtime NHLer Jason Demers calls out Senators star Tim Stutzle for exaggerating injuries

Tim Stutzle has built a somewhat poor reputation around the league in recent years, and now, a former NHLer has called him out for embellishing.

During a pre-season battle with the Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stutzle was seemingly hit in the head by defenseman Arber Xhekaj, and while it looked brutal at first, upon second viewing, it didn't seem nearly as bad from Xhekaj. In fact, slowing it down, many Canadiens fans called it out for Stutzle embellishing the call, which ultimately went in his favour given the reputation that Xhekaj himself has built up.

However, this was one moment in a career of many that fans can point too of Tim Stutzle somewhat exaggerating the contact on him, with veteran NHLer Jason Demers taking to social media to call out the young forward about it.

For the past few years, many fans have seen him diving on the ice to get calls from the officials, and given his level of skill and clear talent on the ice, the referees have thus far been giving him the calls. According to Demers however, that won't last long if he keeps it up, stating that he will draw the ire of opponents and officials if he continues to play like this.

In terms of skill and excitement, there are few players in the entire NHL that match Stutzle, especially at his very young age, but even Ottawa Senators fans have somewhat become tired of his actions. While the hit from Xhekaj wasn't one of the worst instances of his diving, there have been countless in recent years, so let's see if he can take the advice from Demers and likely several other people on board and improve the way he handles himself on the ice moving forward.
