Last Saturday, Greig scored a controversial goal in an empty net. Only a few feet from the net, he did a slap shot, which wasn't well received by Rielly, who jumped on him.

After an hearing, the NHL ruled that Rielly would be suspended five games.

A few minutes ago, it was confirmed that Rielly filed an appeal to Gary Bettman.

"Morgan Rielly will be filing an appeal to NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on his five-game suspension."
