Evander Kane is pretty aggressive in his game style, so many expected him to be stoutly for Morgan Rielly's cross-check on Ridly Greig.
While he was indeed in support of it, he was not on the same wavelength as Ryan Reaves, who believed the slap shot from Ridly Greig was disrespectful. Kane, in fact, found it absolutely hilarious.
Evander Kane Comments on the Ridly Greig Slapshot
The biggest news story of the week, which ultimately culminated in a five-game suspension for Morgan Rielly, has been commented on by everybody and anybody in the hockey world.
Evander Kane's comments, however, differed from most, as he was in support of both the slapshot, and the response:
The Slapshot [Smirks]. You know I don't have any issues with it, I think it's Great. But at the same time, as alot of people would say; the Reilly Response was Appropriate. I am sure he wasn't trying to cross-check the guy in the Head. You know sometimes alot of these cross-checks ride up the shoulder, and end up hitting guys in the head, you know, l've had that happen to me (before in the past).'
'You know, I think, it's Entertaining (Entertainment). I think it's Good for the Game. You know, if I'm Toronto I don't Love it, and I am probably going to respond the same way. Either way, it's Entertaining!
Do you think Kane has the right take, or did one player cross the line more than the other?
Who do you think did the worse thing?
