Former OHL and Kitchener Ranger forward Eric Guest drew a lot of chatter online yesterday after he revealed some shocking details of abuse he took at a team party during his rookie season with the club.

Guest, 20, claims that during his rookie season in which he was 16-years-old, he and another teammate who he left unnamed were locked in a bathroom and told they could not leave until they did cocaine. The story was shocking to say the least, and quickly got the attention of both the team and the league, as well as the police, who are all now investigating the matter.

The Rangers released a statement Tuesday afternoon, saying that they only became aware of the allegations on Monday. They said that they consider them “extremely serious and potentially criminal conduct.”

The team also stated that they have been in contact with the Waterloo Regional Police Services and will help them and the OHL's commissioner complete their investigation. This alleged incident took place during the 2016-17 season, which was the first of Guest's three seasons spent with the team. Though he did not mention any names, he did say that the player who forced him to try cocaine had just previously been drafted into the NHL, which has led to much speculation on Twitter on who this alleged player is.
