On Thursday, the NHL announced that Phase 3 of its Return to Play Plan will go into effect on July 10. Each of the qualifying 24 teams will return to their training camps on that day.

Many of the players have questions that have not been addressed in the Return to Play Plan. Sean Couturier of the Philadelphia Flyers wonders what will happen if numerous players start testing positive for the coronavirus.

“You don't want to see four, five of your key players out of the lineup going into Game 7,” Couturier said. “So, that's one big question that needs to be resolved.”

The NHL has announced that it will be testing players on a daily basis, but has not explained what will happen if players test positive.

Couturier knows that many players also have concerns about the Stanley Cup Playoffs going on without fans present. Couturier says he does not think it “will be as bad as people think.”
