Zdeno Chara took part in a Black Lives Matter protest in Brookline, Massachusetts on Friday. The Boston Bruins captain used his platform to speak to his 252,000 followers on Instagram and share his thoughts.
He penned a heartfelt caption to accompany several photos that he took during the protest. He spoke out against racism saying, “First thing is first and let me be clear: I stand with the Black community. Black Lives Matter. There is no room in this world for racism. Period.”

Chara's teammate, Patrice Bergeron, also issued a statement regarding George Floyd's murder. Bergeron's statement appeared on the social media pages of the Boston Bruins, as he does not have his own accounts.
