A couple of players will be getting used to new teammates after getting picked up on waivers. Goaltender Eric Comrie is returning to Winnipeg after being placed on waivers by the Detroit Red Wings. Comrie was drafted in the second round, 59th overall, by the Jets in 2013. He spent four seasons with the organization, although he played mostly for the Manitoba Moose of the AHL before being claimed on waivers by Arizona in October of this year. He was traded to Detroit in late November and now finds himself right back where he began in the NHL with Winnipeg.

Meanwhile, the San Jose Sharks have claimed forward Stefan Noesen from the Pittsburgh Penguins. Noesen had just recently signed with the Penguins after beginning the season on an AHL-only contract with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the Pens' affiliate in the minors. He had played just six games with Pittsburgh, recording one goal and no assists. Neosen is a former first round draft pick of the Ottawa Senators, going 21st overall in 2011

In one last piece of waiver wire news, Calgary's Austin Czarnik has cleared waivers and will report to the Stockton Heat of the AHL.
