The New Jersey Devils have traded star Taylor Hall and Blake Speers to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a first-round draft pick, a conditional third-rounder, along with prospects Nate Schnarr, Nick Merkley and Kevin Bahl, Sportsnet is reporting. The Devils retain 50 percent of Hall's salary.

The Coyotes add a former Hart Trophy winner to a roster that has already looked much improved this year compared to previous seasons. That said, unless an extension is part of the trade, or one is signed before the end of the season, there's always a chance Hall ends up elsewhere once the 2019-20 season is done.
