Canucks Head Coach Travis Green announced today that Thatcher Demko is out with a concussion that he sustained during practice on Wednesday. Michael DiPietro has been called up from the Utica Comets to back up Jacob Markstrom.

Demko has put up a 7-4-1 record as the backup so far this year in his rookie campaign and has a 3.00 goals against average, along with a .906 save percentage.
DiPietro lost his one and only game for the Canucks last season, allowing 7 goals on 24 shots. He has done well for the Comets in the AHL this year, beginning the season with a 8-4-1 record with a 2.56 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.
