It was reported on Tuesday that the projected #1 overall pick in next year's entry draft, Alexis Lafrenière, missed his second practice at Team Canada's World Juniors Selection Camp while recovering from a nagging ankle injury.

Today, he did not dress for Canada's final exhibition game of the camp against the U Sports All-Star team.

Team Canada GM Mark Hunter confirmed that Lafrenière will be making the team, so it is more beneficial that he takes this time during camp to rest and heal up as much as possible before the tournament gets started on Boxing Day. After today's game, the final cuts are expected to be made and the team will practice one last time in Canada on Saturday before heading to Europe.

Alexis himself is not too concerned by the injury noting that he has been monitoring it with the team's medical staff and his ankle has improved over the last couple of days.

To recap Lafrenière's stellar start to the QMJHL season with Rimouski, he has 24 goals and 46 assists for 70 points in just 32 games.
