In tonight's game between the Rangers and Flames, the 29-year-old New York defenseman caught himself in a difficult situation near Calgary's bench. As it turned out, the real trouble was being faced by rookie forward Jakob Petellier. In an attempt to skate behind him, Pettelier was demolished by Trouba.
Pettelier In Trouble After Multiple Injuries
Though he initially seemed fine after pulling himself up to get to the dressing room, this 22-year-old Flames forward had to be pulled from the rest of the game for upper body injuries.
After suffering a shoulder injury earlier this season, Pettelier has only played three games while garnering only one assist. Now, while potentially facing more time off-ice for recovery, the thread for Pettelier to help lift his team out of the middle of the league is running thin.
