The St. Louis Blues announced on Saturday that they've agreed to terms on a one-year contract worth $750,000 with 13-year NHL veteran James Neal. The Whitby, Ontario native played in five pre-season games for St. Louis where he tallied four goals, including a hat-trick on September 26th against Minnesota.

Neal, 34, signed a professional tryout contract with the Blues back on September 17th, less than two months after the Edmonton Oilers bought out the remaining two years on his previous contract.

As mentioned, Neal has played in 13 seasons in the NHL after being drafted in the second round, 33rd overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2005 draft. In his 13 years, Neal has played for Dallas, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Vegas, Calgary, and Edmonton. In 850 regular season games, he's recorded 555 points (294 G, 261 A), along with 58 points (33 G, 25 A) in 110 career playoff games.

James Neal and the Blues will open their 2021-22 season on Saturday, October 16th when they travel to Colorado to take on the Avalanche.
