The Niagara IceDogs have announced that two games that were set to take place this weekend have been cancelled to allow the team to recover from a scary incident involving their goaltender, Tucker Tynan, Thursday night. Tynan received a deep cut on his leg after a collision with a player on the London Knights. Blood could be seen flowing from the cut onto the ice. He was eventually stretchered off and underwent successful surgery.

Tynan, thankfully, is expected to make a full recovery, although it will likely be a lengthy one. The team thanked medical staff involved in the incident, saying "We would like to sincerely thank our training and medical staff, the London Knights training staff, the parademics onsite, and the medical staff of the Niagara Health System in St. Catharines for their immediate and precise attention in treating Tucker Tynan."

Niagara's games with Peterborough and Ottawa originally set for Saturday and Sunday will be rescheduled at a later date, according to the IceDogs.
