It seems whenever the Calgary Flames and L.A. Kings meet lately, regardless of where the two teams are in the standing, there always a lot of chirping, pushing and, in some cases, fighting. Saturday night was no different as the two teams battled it out at the Saddledome, with Calgary picking up a 4-3 win. There was an odd incident a couple of minutes into the 2nd period during a TV timeout that led to Zac Rinaldo and Kyle Clifford getting tossed from the game. Rinaldo sums up the situation pretty well.
"He asked me to go and I said Cliffie, they're shoveling the ice, we can't go right now. He said no, we have to go, we have to go. I'm like, I don't think we can go right now. They're in a TV timeout. No, we're going. I'm like f--k it, let's go."
They went, but it didn't last long as you can see in the video below. The referees broke it up almost immediately. Apparently fighting during a commercial break is frowned upon. Both were given five minute penalties for fighting and sent to their respective dressing rooms with game misconducts.
