In the aftermath of the Bill Peters controversy in Calgary, the Flames have quietly gone about their business, winners in their last 3 games. The Flames now have points in each of their last 5 games.

On Friday, the team took care of some off-ice business with the announcement that Flames Director of Player Development Ray Edwards will join the Flames coaching staff as an assistant coach.

The Flames coaching staff now consists of: Interim head coach Geoff Ward, assistant coaches Ray Edwards, Martin Gelinas, Ryan Huska and Jamie Pringle (video) along with goaltending coach Jordan Sigalet.

Edwards has been with the Flames organization since the 2015-16 season. Prior to that, he spent time as a head coach in the AHL, ECHL and CHL.
