The Tampa Bay Lightning will have an important figure in the female hockey community at their training camp next week. According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, the Lightning are bringing in former Olympian Julie Chu for their rookie camp, as well as main camp which begins next week.
Chu, 39, had a very successful career in hockey at the international level. She represented the United States including four Olympic Games, winning silver twice and bronze once. Chu also played at nine IIHF Women's World Championships where she took home nine medals, five gold and four bronze. Currently, Chu is the head coach of the Concordia University women's team in Montreal.
Hopefully being with the Lightning at rookie and main camps over the next couple of weeks will open up the door for Chu to coach in the NHL one day.
