According to the report, Samberg's truck struck another vehicle that was pulled over on the shoulder of the highway. It is believed that a third vehicle was also involved and a total of 4 individuals suffered serious injuries. The pictures tell the story.

Though the initial report by Global-TV's Russ Hobson had indicated that Samberg had suffered non-life threatening injuries in the collision, an update moments later confirms that the Jets prospect was not injured, per team sources. Given the looks of things, he and the 4 who were injured are lucky to be alive.
Samberg was drafted by the Jets in the 2nd round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft (43rd overall). The blueliner is currently attending the University of Minnesota-Duluth. The 21-year old signed his entry-level contract with the Jets in April. The deal is a standard 3-year contract and will pay Samberg $925K per season at the NHL level, $70K per season at the AHL level, not including bonuses.
