There were many question marks for Canada leading up to Wednesday's tilt with the Latvians, but none bigger than who would get the start in goal. Canada has three legit goaltenders on their roster with Red Wings prospect Sebastian Cossa, Rangers prospect Dylan Garand and Brett Brochu.
On Tuesday night, Canadian head coach Dave Cameron revealed that Sebastian Cossa will get the start against Latvia, while Dylan Garand will more than likely be in between the pipes when they face Slovakia on Thursday.
Cossa, 19, played for the Edmonton Oil Kings in the WHL during the 2021-22 season. In 46 games, the fifteenth overall pick in 2021 put up a 33-9-3 record, along with a 2.28 GAA, a .913 save percentage and six shutouts.
Puck drop for Canada's opener on Wednesday is set for 6 p.m. ET/4 p.m. local and can be viewed on TSN.
